So you are thinking about installing a dedicated home theater in your Seacoast home, but you aren’t sure where to start or what to expect? The good news is that when you work with our team, we take you through a structured process so that you will be more than satisfied with the end result. Whether you already know exactly what you want, or you are having trouble deciding on a theme or design, we can help you get started. Here is what you can expect when you get a custom home theater from DC Home Systems in Rye, New Castle, North Hampton, or anywhere in New Hampshire.

  • Discovery Meeting – The project always begins with a discovery meeting, where we listen to all of your needs and desires. It’s essential to establish a specific vision for the theater before the work begins. Do you want an elegant theater with vintage Hollywood pieces and a red carpet? Or do you want a Marvel superhero style room that makes you feel like you are in the Avengers’ world? If you can dream it, we can execute it. The first step is simply putting what you want down on paper.
  • Design & Engineering – Once we have your dreams on paper, it’s time to draft the design plans. Our job is to take your thoughts and put them into a concrete plan. We’ll also give you a cost estimate that aligns with your budget. With your approval, our professionals move onto the pre-construction phase.
  • Construction – Once the engineering documentation is complete, we are ready to install the infrastructure, such as low voltage and electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, and enclosures. Next, we purchase all audio, video, and automation equipment and assemble as appropriate in our office or at the job site. Our job is only complete when you are 100% satisfied with the finished product. The length of time for this phase is dependent upon the time frame of construction. If you want additions, or choose to make changes during the construction, we’ll draft new drawings for your final copy. Once the system installation is complete, all engineering documentation is updated to an as-built state.
  • Furnishing Your Dream Cinema – This portion of the process includes more than just seating. We help you put the finishing touches on your room which may include, a popcorn machine, bar top, artwork, special lighting fixtures, or blankets and pillows for the seating. We won’t stop until your home theater is exactly the way you want it. When we finish, you’ll get copies of the official drawings for your personal records and a line by line sheet outlining all the costs and final price.

Now that you know what happens when you work with DC Home Systems, give us a call! Summer is an ideal time to put a new theater in your home. You’ll be on your way to watching your favorite movies and programs in no time. Simply fill out our online form to schedule your discovery meeting!

One comment on “How to Get Started Constructing a Custom Home Theater

  • I have most things under control when it comes to my home theater. The main issue I have is the audio! I just haven’t ever wired it before. I’ll be sure to hire a professional, since they would know exactly what to do!
