Q: At what point in the project should you contact us?

A: It is never to early to get us involved in your project. Ideally we would be involved in the early planning stages with your architect and designer. When it comes to equipment placement, interior chases, ventilation requirements, home theater seating arrangements, etc. our designers will provide crucial information that may affect the design of your home.



Q: In what stages of construction is our work being done?

A: Our first effort is wiring and we will accomplish this during the rough-in stage of your construction project. We typically start our wiring just after the electrical contractor and finish just before the walls are insulated. We prefer to overlap with the electrical contractor to make sure important needs are met between both groups.


Q: What do we do and what does the electrician do?

A: In simple terms, the electrician is responsible for high voltage items and we are responsible for low voltage. High voltage includes outlets, light switches, light fixtures and the breaker panel. Low voltage includes telephone and cable wiring and entertainment wiring (speakers, controls, etc.) In special cases the electrician may pull our low voltage wires, but this overlap of responsibility can lead to accountability issues later in the project.


Q: How does our pricing compare?

A: We are careful to price our components at the same level as good retail or e-tail establishments. Sometimes we might be a few percentage points higher but our overall service and customer support is radically different then what you would experience with a retail purchase.

We are not competitive with low ball internet providers. Then again, the internet is a completely different business model and cannot be compared with smaller customer service oriented establishments. Unfortunately, we do decline projects where customers insist on purchasing the components themselves. We have found that the long term cost and frustration with this approach has led to too many disappointed clients.

Costs for our professional services (design, installation, etc.) are competitive with other similar firms. Small one or two person firms in contrast, may charge less for labor but there will be a significant difference in overall quality, support and ease of use.
